MashUp
MashUp: How to set up a successful intellectual property strategy?
Having a strategy regarding Intellectual Property (IP) is essential for innovative companies. IP is often associated with patents but a good strategy also involves secrecy, defensive publications, contracts, and trademarks. Each have their cons and pros but determining what is most optimal for you is not always easy.
Different types of companies and business will require a different strategy. Not only how you want to protect your IP is important but also how you want or need to use is. Most companies maintain a passive attitude and use their IP as a mere financial asset. However, IP can also become an essential element in legal disputes.
In this Leuven MindGate MashUp, several strategies will be reviewed and discussed. The cases will be selected to match the participants interest both in terms of technology, e.g. software, mechanics, electronics… or business, e.g. startups, SMEs…
A MashUp is a conversation, not a presentation.
However, every MashUp will have an expert in the room who initiates a discussion and answers your in-depth questions. There is plenty of time to share your own experiences and learn from others.
